Drug driving arrests after car crashed into streetlamp

Two men were arrested after a car crashed into a streetlamp. Police were called to Valley Road in Kirkby[1] on Monday, November 27 at around 12.15pm to reports a Ford Focus had crashed into a lamppost. Two men who were in the car fled from the scene.

Officers later found and arrested two 26-year-old men from Stoke-on-Trent. They were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, drug driving and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.

A picture of the scene shared by police on X, formerly known as Twitter[4], and Facebook[5] showed the silver Ford Focus on a grass verge and the streetlamp at an obscure angle.

The men were taken to a police station in Merseyside and have since been bailed.
