Dylan Houghton, 20, named as tragic Ulley crash victim as tributes paid to lad ‘with heart of gold’
The heartbroken family of a young man killed in a South Yorkshire crash have named him as Dylan Houghton. Dylan, 20, died when his car crashed into a tree in Ulley in the early hours of Sunday morning[1]. Today, his family, through South Yorkshire Police[2], have released a picture in tribute to the young man from Sheffield[3].
Dylan was the driver of a Suzuki Jimny which left the road and crashed into a tree at 1.15am on November 19. He died at the scene in Pennyhill Lane in Rotherham[4]. In a statement issued by the police today, they said: “His family are being supported by trained officers and we would ask that their privacy is respected at this time as they come to terms with the loss of Dylan.”
As the police continue their enquiries they have issued reissued details about the crash in the hope further witnesses will come forward. Meanwhile, heartbroken friends have paid tribute on social media. One wrote: “I can’t believe the news I woke up to this morning.
My heart honestly hurts. The most down to earth caring guy you could ever come across.” Others described Dylan as having “a heart of gold” and said he “never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face”.
A force spokesperson has now urged anyone who can help piece together what happened to come forward. They said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are still keen to hear from anyone with information about the collision, which happened around 1.15am in Pennyhill Lane, between the M1 motorway and Wood Lane. “We would urge anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the collision, the collision itself, or anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch with us.
If you have CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage of the incident, please share this with us as it may help our investigation.” If you have dash cam, doorbell, or CCTV footage contact the police by calling 101, or through their online portal[6]. The incident number to quote is 55 of November 19.
