Elderly woman in critical condition after being hit by car

A woman in her 80s is in a critical condition in hospital after she was involved in a crash with a SEAT Leon car. Merseyside Police[1] confirmed that the woman and a car were involved in a crash on Sefton[2] Road, near its junction with Alexandra Mount, Litherland[3] at around 5pm last night, Thursday, November 23. The woman was taken to hospital and is currently in a critical condition.

The driver of the SEAT Leon car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with the ongoing enquiries. Merseyside Police[4] is now appealing for any witnesses, CCTV, doorbell and dash camera footage which may help with investigations.

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the serious collision unit said: “We continue to investigate the circumstances of this incident, which has sadly left an elderly woman in a critical condition in hospital. I am reaching out to the local community and would ask if you witnessed this incident or have any information, to please let us know.

“We also urge those who live in the area or were driving past to check your CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage as it may have captured the incident.
