‘Flying high with angels’: Flowers and emotional notes left for Conor Holland at scene of A689 crash

Heartbreaking notes and flowers have been left at the scene of a fatal Hartlepool[1] crash. This week, Conor Holland was named by police as the man who tragically died after a crash on the A689 Stockton[2] Road on Friday night, which saw a blue Audi collide with railings on the busy road. The 24-year-old leaves behind his mam, dad and sister who are devastated by his loss.

Bouquets of flowers have since been left by the side of the scene[3], tied to a tree, with one emotional note reading: “Thinking of you flying high with the angels now.” Another said: “Thinking of you and all your family. Rest in peace young man.” Police and paramedics were called to the A689 shortly after 10.15pm on Friday.

A large cordon was erected across the dual carriageway at the time, with the road being taped off between Brierton Lane and Rossmere Way. A 22-year-old man, driving a blue VW Golf, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed while inquiries continue into the incident.
