Girl, 9, seriously injured in hit and run at pelican crossing
A nine-year-old girl has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident in Widnes. the incident saw the girl and a dog hit by car while using a pelican crossing. Police are now appealing for witness to the fail-to-stop collision. The incident happened at 7.22pm on Thursday, November 23, when a silver car hit the nine-year-old pedestrian at a pelican crossing near Pesto on Birchfield Road.

READ: Police hunt man who exposed himself to girl, 15, outside high school[2] | There was a similar incident nearby four days later Sergeant Ian Smith said: “I’d urge anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police to contact us. The same goes for anyone with dashcam footage that may help us identify the car and driver involved in the collision.”
