Homeowner’s plea after masked youths ‘smash Ring door camera’ and snap lock to steal motorbike
Masked robbers were caught on camera as they snapped a security lock and rode off with a motorbike in the middle of the day, a crime victim revealed. The balaclava-clad youths, both of whom were wearing gloves, were caught on camera as they struck. An image shows the hooded pair hunched over the Honda CBF 125 as they work to break its lock in broad daylight.
The bike was stolen outside the victim's home in Old Farm Rd, near Atherstone, at around 12.40pm last Tuesday. Besides from the image above, the victim said he couldn't recover further footage as they "smashed my Ring door camera." He had stepped outside as he heard the bike's alarm go off - only to see the duo "ride off on it." The victim, who did not wish to be named, told BirminghamLive: "It happened on Tuesday around 12:40pm, it's a black motorbike.
"They snapped my lock. I saw them ride off on it when I heard the alarm go off. One of them was skinny, white around 16 years of age, and another one was wearing a black balaclava, and white, they were wearing gloves."
"I can't recover anymore footage since they smashed my ring door camera. Anything would help, it's been days since it got stolen, and I haven't seen it since. Please just tell people to call 101."
