Hull shop ‘extensively damaged’ after ram raid attempt with stolen car

A ram-raid in Hull last night is believed to have been carried out with a stolen car, police said today. The Today’s Express shop, in Inglemire Lane, was struck by a car at around 1am. An Audi Q3 reported stolen from a home in Beverley Road[1] was recovered.

When Hull Live arrived at the scene, the convenience store was still closed and workmen were repairing the security shutters. There was no broken glass and police said the culprits failed to gain entry. A spokesperson for Humberside Police[2] told Hull Live: “We are investigating damage caused to the shutters of a convenience store on Inglemire Lane in Hull which happened at 1am today, Tuesday 28 November.

“We received reports that a car had been deliberately driven into the shop in an attempt to raid the store. Entry was not gained but extensive damage to the security shutters occurred.
