Hyundai ‘crash’ at A4440 County Hall roundabout in Worcester

The grey Hyundai Kona was pictured with its bumper hanging off on Tuesday morning (October 7) after the crash just off the County Hall roundabout in Worcester. A resident said: “I saw blue lights on the roundabout when I was driving past on the A4440 at around 7.40pm on Monday. It looked like police and ambulance were in attendance at the scene.

Worcester News: DAMAGE: The BMW crash in October DAMAGE: The BMW crash in October (Image: James Connell/Newsquest) “When I drove past the next morning I saw the damaged car at the side of the one-way service road (Swinesherd Way which leads directly onto the County Hall roundabout), pulled up on the verge, with heavy damage to the front end and the bumper hanging off. “It was not causing any sort of obstruction and drivers were able to get by the damaged car.”

The black BMW smashed into the lamppost on the A4440 bypass in Worcester on October 11.

The car was badly damaged after the crash near County Hall. The car came to rest on a grass area on Nunnery Way very close to the pedestrian crossing. The impact was so severe the lamppost was bent and was leaning over.

Both front seat airbags had been deployed in the BMW on impact. A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “At around 1pm today officers were called to a collision involving a vehicle on the roundabout of A4440 and A44. No one was injured and no one has been arrested.”

On September 7, a motorbike skidded on mud on the A4440 near County Hall, leaving the rider and his pillion passenger injured.

Pillion passenger Karen Jordan and her boyfriend, who was the rider, were both injured.

On October 13 a white van crashed through metal safety railings and flipped onto its side during a dramatic crash at the other end of the stretch of the same stretch of dual carriageway, just off the Whittington roundabout.
