Jeep and Citroen crash caused long tailbacks heading to town centre

Queues built up towards Bedworth town centre following a crash on a busy main road. Reports on social media highlighted congestion on Newtown Road, heading towards the town centre. It was the result of a collision at 2.30pm earlier today (November 30). Warwickshire[1] Police confirmed that they received a report of a collision between a grey Jeep and a grey Citroen C3.

No injuries were reported and West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed to CoventryLive that they were not called to the scene. However, the impact of the incident was felt across the area for some time. Online traffic website Inrix reported that the road was still blocked at just after 4pm.

We have asked Warwickshire Police[2] for an update on the situation.
