The Cambridge[2] educated eco-zealot who rose to fame after crying on an M25 gantry as part of a Just Stop Oil[3] protest has released a new ‘performative’ environmental song in which she cries for almost five minutes.

Activist Louise Harris, 25, a wannabe vegan[4] popstar from Harpenden has had her latest track titled ‘We Tried’ officially endorsed by Just Stop Oil who retweeted her post in which she warned: ‘This is what will happen if we don’t act now.’

Harris, who once likened herself to a prisoner of war because football fans pelted her with drinks after she invaded the pitch at a Premier League[5] game, also shared a link to a GoFundMe page for her 2024 ‘Climate’ album.

In it, she explains that she needs to raise GBP20,000 to record six songs that ‘could mobilise millions of people into the climate movement’ and in order to do so couldn’t ‘waste time in a meaningless job just to pay the bills.’

The music video comes after a sustained period of demonstrations[6] by the eco-group who have forced the Metropolitan Police[7] to make over 500 arrests in just 12 days.

Harris has previously compared her campaigning to that of the Irish rebels’ fight for independence from the British claims and says she has been arrested five times for her efforts.

She was mocked on social media last year for weeping on the gantry over Britain’s busiest motorway as she declared: ‘You might hate me for doing this. I’m here because I don’t have a future.’

She and other campaigners would go on to spend a month in HMP Wandsworth for the trouble while awaiting their hearing. [8]

Describing her activism on her GoFundMe page, Harris described how she wanted her song to ‘be a wake-up call for anyone who is simply going about their ordinary life.’

But since posting her appeal online, she has been mocked by some and accused of being a ‘scrounger.’

Taking to the replies below her post on X, one person said: ‘As parodies go, this is hilarious! Great job, love.’

Another said: ‘Another scrounging loser.

Get a job to pay for your album.’

One said the video, in which Harris cries directly into the camera, was bordering on funny.

They said: ‘Seriously, is this a meant to be a joke? Members of the Just Stop Oil doomsday cult seem to get more and more bizarre.’

Harris had previously been accused of hypocrisy after pictures emerged of her posing next to a 2009 Fiat Punto, which runs on unleaded.

Just Stop Oil opposes petrol cars so much its members smash petrol stations to prevent people refueling and blockade refineries.

She also appears to be at the wheel – or a passenger – in the same car in a number of other social media posts, including this year when she has been taking part in Just Stop Oil protests, despite it running on petrol.

Miss Harris compared the yellow Punto to the vehicle made famous by The Inbetweeners, because it has a red door.

In one post where she stands next to the Fiat she says: ‘I am officially Number 1 fan of this show f*** you other wannabes. Unfortunately it DOESN’T have a tape deck’.

The prolific activist, was also spared jail for trying to tie herself to goal posts during Tottenham Hotspur’s home tie with West Ham in 2022 while wearing one of the Just Stop Oil group’s trademark orange t-shirts.

Reflecting on the incident recently, the activist – who self-styles as a ‘pop singer-songwriter – aligned herself with rebels during the Irish War Of Independence.

It is estimated that 2,346 people were killed or died as a result of the gruelling War of Independence, which ran between 1919 and 1921.

In a Facebook[9] post, she declared that ‘we must learn from history’ to stop climate activists being executed like rebels were.

Ms Harris has even said she would go to war ‘to save the human race’ if the time comes.

However, she followed the sentiment by acknowledging ‘war is awful’ and she would rather ‘be part of nonviolent civil resistance instead.’

The demonstrator – has also posted songs on YouTube including a slickly edited music video called ‘Dating me is like a Cambridge term’.

The lyrics include: Dating me is like a Cambridge term.

By the fifth week you are completely burnt out emotionally destroyed and suicidal’.
