Live: M5 lane closed at Gloucester Services after van and ambulance crash
A lane is closed on the M5 following a serious crash in Gloucestershire this afternoon (November 3). According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the collision involved a van and an ambulance. It took place heading northbound between Gloucester Services and junction 11A.
The closure was first reported at 3pm and traffic[1] is now building. Inrix says: “Queueing traffic and one lane closed due to accident, a van and an ambulance involved on M5 northbound from M5 (Gloucester Services) to J11A A417 (Gloucester/Cirencester). Lane one (of three) is now closed, traffic was held around 3pm until 3.15pm, between J12 (Quedgeley/Hardwicke) and J11A (Gloucester/Brockworth Bypass).”
National Highways has tweeted that all traffic had been stopped following the crash. According to the tweet, there are three miles of queues on the motorway. This is a live blog.
