Live: M6 queues after lorry involved in crash

Motorists are being warned of delays on the M6 heading towards Stoke-on-Trent following a crash involving a lorry. Traffic is building up on the southbound carriageway between junctions 17 and 16 following the collision, which happened at around 6.45pm. Two lanes are currently closed as motorway police deal with the aftermath of the smash.

It is not known at this stage whether there are any serious injuries. Traffic monitoring site Inrix reports: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry involved on M6 southbound from J17 A534 Old Mill Road (Sandbach/ Crewe) to J16 A500 (Stoke-On-Trent / Crewe). Lanes three and four (of four) are closed."
