Live updates as A38 closed after lorry leaves carriageway
A crash is causing heavy traffic for commuters this morning on the A38. An accident on the southbound carriageway between Aflreton and Ripley has blocked the road on Wednesday, November 1. Traffic monitoring site Inrix is reporting that a lorry has left the carriageway.
The road is blocked and traffic is currently stationary, Derby Telegraph reports[1]. The incident was first reported around 8.45am this morning (Wednesday, November 1). The incident is between A61 Derby Road (Alfreton) to A610 (Butterley).
National Highways said in a statement: "The #A38[2] in #Derbyshire[3] is CLOSED southbound between the #A61[4] at #Alfreton[5] and the #A610[6] near #Ripley[7] due to a collision involving a lorry which has left the carriageway. Emergency services are in attendance. Expect delays in the area."
