M1 reopens after serious multi-vehicle crash

The M1 has fully reopened after a multi-vehicle crash closed a busy section for several hours.

National Highways said the motorway was shut in both directions between junction 15 for Northampton and junction for 14 Milton Keynes at about 14:30 GMT on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to the area, including an air ambulance, and surrounding roads were heavily congested.

The southbound side partially reopened at about 18:55 and was fully operational at about 20:20, while the northbound road reopened at about 23:00.
