M18 Rotherham: Serious collision on South Yorkshire motorway as van overturned near M1 junction 32

The southbound side of the M18 was closed and traffic stopped on the northbound side to allow an air ambulance to land.

Earlier this afternoon, National Highways posted: “The M18 southbound is closed between J1 Maltby and the M1 J32 due to a serious collision involving an overturned van. Emergency services and Traffic Officers are on scene. Delays are building on approach, so please allow extra journey time.”

A following update confirmed the attendance of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Both the southbound and northbound carraigeways of the M18 have reopened, but a link road between the M18 and the M1 north at J32 remains closed.

South Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service have been approached for a comment.
