M27 eastbound closed by police after serious crash
Emergency services were called to the scene between junction one and two on the eastbound side before 6pm on Sunday. Motorists faced delays[1] of around 20 minutes in the area. Officers later closed the eastbound carriageway between the two junctions to deal with the incident.
Speaking on the crash last night, a spokesperson from National Highways said: “The M27 in Hampshire remains closed eastbound between J1 and J2 near Southampton[3] following a serious collision. “Investigations continue and the road is expected to remain closed throughout the night.” The #M27[4] eastbound between J1 and J2 near #Southampton[5] is now closed due to a collision.@HantsIOW_fire[6] are on scene working alongside our Traffic Officers.

Fire crews were also called to the scene.
National Highways confirmed the crash was cleared at 5am today and the motorway reopened eastbound.
