M40 crash near Oxford and Bicester overturns lorry
The M40 collision occurred southbound between junction nine, Bicester[1], and junction 8A, Wheatley at around 3.30am. It initially caused no significant delays but Thames Valley Police and National Highways traffic officers soon arrived on the scene and a recovery operation led to a closure of the motorway stretch. In an update at 10.50am, National Highways said there are 30 minute delays with five miles of congestion as recovery work continues.

The stretch of road reopened around 9am but two lanes remain closed while “recovery and clear-up works continue at the scene”.
