Four vehicles have been involved in a crash on the M6. At around 1.30pm on Friday November 3 North West Motorway Police Group were called to reports of a multi-vehicle crash on the M6 southbound between junctions 19 and 18. Highways Officers attended the scene and found the crash involved four vehicles, a black BMW, a white Audi, a black Nissan and a white Ford Transit van.

According to Cheshire Police[3], there are no reports of any serious injuries and it doesn’t appear North West Ambulance Service[4] attended the scene. There are delays in the area while recovery work is undertaken. It is not known how long the delays will be in place for.

The incident comes after a fatal crash this morning on the East Lancashire Road[5], in which a 25-year-old man died.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died a short time later. Emergency services were called to the scene, at the junction of Moorgate Road,[6] at around 7am on Friday, November 3. They found that a cyclist, 25, and a white Volkswagen Sirocco car had crashed on the Liverpool bound carriageway.

Police confirmed that a 45-year-old man[7] has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs and driving a vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the limit. He is currently in custody and will be questioned by officers. The Liverpool Daily Post newsletter delves into the biggest stories on Merseyside[8]
