Man, 77, named after fatal two-vehicle crash near Suffolk town
A man has died following a two-vehicle crash near Newmarket (Image: Google Maps/Newsquest) A man in his 70s who died after a two-vehicle crash near a Suffolk town has been named. Emergency services were called to the crash in the A142 in Soham near Newmarket at about 10.25am on Monday.
A Mercedes Actros HGV and a black Mini were involved in the crash. Despite the best efforts of paramedics the driver of the Mini - a man in his 70s - died at the scene. Kevin Boswell, 77, of North Street, Burwell, has been named as the victim of the crash, by Cambs Police.
The driver of the lorry was uninjured and the road was closed for a number of hours while investigations were carried out. Detective inspector at Cambs Police Garry Webb said: "A man has tragically lost his life in this collision and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time. "I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision, or either vehicle prior to it, to please get in touch."
