Man critically injured in Ottawa County crash

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI - A 33-year-old Conklin man was critically injured Monday, Nov.

20, in a crash just east of Coopersville, sheriff's deputies said.

The man's name was not released.

The other driver, a 16-year-old Muskegon boy, was not hurt.

The crash was reported at 5:46 p.m. at Cleveland Street and 40th Avenue in Ottawa County's Wright Township.

Sheriff's deputies said that the Conklin man was driving a 2005 Toyota sedan north on 40th Street.

He slowed for the stop sign at Cleveland Street but proceeded through the intersection and was struck by the teen's westbound Jeep, which did not have to stop, police said.

The injured man suffered critical injuries and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, police said.

Both drivers used seat belts.
