Mass. woman ID’d as driver killed in crash on I-93 in Derry, NH
A Massachusetts woman has been identified as the driver killed in a crash with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 93 in Derry, New Hampshire earlier this week.
The woman killed in the crash with the tractor-trailer on I-93 in Derry on Wednesday was identified as 78-year-old Maya Muchnik of Needham, Massachusetts, New Hampshire State Police said in a statement Friday.
New Hampshire State Police troopers responded to the crash in the southbound lanes of I-93 in Derry shortly before 6:15 p.m.
Wednesday.
An investigation revealed the tractor-trailer allegedly rear-ended a 2009 Lexus ES 350 sedan Muchnik was driving, according to the statement.
Muchnik died at the scene of the crash from the injuries she suffered in the collision, the statement said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as 26-year-old Luciano Miguel Garone of Stallings, North Carolina, according to the statement.
The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit of New Hampshire State Police responded to the scene of the crash and is leading the investigation, the statement noted.
“All aspects of the collision remain under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed the crash are urged to contact Trooper Eric Torrens at [email protected] or (603) 545-4396,” the statement said.
