Middlesbrough: Seven arrests after officer hurt in violent disorder

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, police said Seven people have been arrested after police officers responding to a fire were attacked. Cleveland Police said the violent disorder broke out in Earls Court Road, in Hemlington, Middlesbrough, at about 02.40 GMT.

A police car was damaged, and several officers were injured, with one of them seriously hurt. Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, the force said. Three other men and two women have also been arrested in connection with the disorder.
