A speeding driver was dealt a double blow after hooning down a busy road only to end up with smoke billowing from his car in front of undercover police.

The incident on the Princes Highway in Sylvania in Sydney[2]‘s south occurred earlier this month and was captured on another driver’s dashcam.

The footage showed the black Nissan Skyline speeding up the inside lane for seven seconds before rear-ending another car.

Seconds later the Nissan could be seen stopped at the side of the inside lane, with what looked like an undamaged 4WD in front of it.

A person helped the driver open the door as smoke escaped the inside of the vehicle.

With the traffic moving again, the dashcam revealed the hood of the Nissan bent out of shape with glass scattered on the road.

However, the hoon’s dose of karma didn’t end there.

In front of the 4WD was an unmarked police vehicle, with officers instantly on the scene.

The video was posted to Dashcam Owners Australia on Facebook on Tuesday, and attracted dozens of comments.

One user wrote: ‘Whoopsies lol.

Police already on the scene.’

‘Instant karma, just add speed,’ wrote another.

Another social media user praised the timing of the moment, writing: ‘Thank you to the traffic light for obliging with a red so we could all behold the scene of karma.’
