Motorcyclist in ‘serious’ condition after crash on rural Cambridgeshire road

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital in a ‘serious’ condition following a crash in Cambridgeshire[1] on Friday (November 17). Emergency services were called to a crash on the A1101 Sutton Road at about 10.40am. The crash involved a lorry and a motorbike.

The road was closed this morning but reopened at around 3.30pm. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 10.48am to a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a motorbike on the A1101 near Tydd. Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and the Magpas Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

“The motorcyclist, an adult man, was transported by road to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a serious condition for treatment.” The road was closed between Swallow Lane and Hannath Road. A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at about 10.40am today (17 November) with reports of a collision between a HGV and a motorcycle on the A1101. Emergency services attended.”
