Multiple vehicle collision causes closure of section of A14 near Cambridge

A collision involving multiple vehicles has led to the closure of a stretch of the A14 near Cambridge which is leading to long delays this afternoon. A Cambridgeshire police spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.31pm this afternoon (Thursday) with reports of a collision on the A14 eastbound at Stow Cum Quy involving four vehicles.”

National Highways added: “The A14 is closed eastbound between J35 (Stow Cum Quy) and J36 (A11) due to a multi-vehicle collision. A strategic diversion is in place on approach to the incident.”

The crash is causing long delays around the Milton area.

It follows earlier delays on the A10[1], where Cambridge Water set up temporary traffic lights due to a burst water main.
