NFL suspends Denver’s Jackson

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - When the Browns hit the field on Sunday to take on the Broncos, Denver will be without one of their best players. Safety Kareem Jackson has been suspended four games without pay by the league for a hit on Minnesota quarterback Josh Dobbs on Sunday night.

The league hit him with the suspension on Monday for "repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players." It is Jackson's second such suspension this year.

Jackson was not flagged for the hit in which he lowered his helmet and hit Dobbs in the facemask. The hit forced a fumble which Denver recovered and would lead to a field goal.

The Browns and Broncos kick off on Sunday at 4:05 in Denver.
