One person taken to hospital after collision between two cars and truck on County Durham stretch of A1
One person has been taken to hospital after a collision between two cars and a truck on the A1(M) in County Durham[1] this morning. Just before 9am, emergency services were called to an incident on the southbound stretch of the A1(M) between Junctions 60 and 61 for Bradbury and Bowburn respectively, with one lane closed on the carriageway. National Highways has confirmed that it was alerted to the incident, and they attended alongside police and the North East Ambulance Service.
All lanes were opened just after 9.30am as recovery vehicles attended to remove the vehicles involved in the crash. An NEAS spokesperson said: “We received a call at 8.57am this morning (Tuesday 28 November) to reports of a road traffic incident on the A1 southbound junction 61, near Coxhoe in Durham. “We dispatched an ambulance crew and a clinical team leader to the scene.
One patient was treated and discharged on-scene, and another was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment.”
Durham Constabulary was also contacted for comment.
