One person taken to hospital as air ambulance attends serious collision on industrial estate

Police have closed a road through an industrial estate in Middlesbrough[1] due to a serious collision. Cleveland Police[2] say that Riverside Park Road has been closed between Ironmasters Road roundabout and the junction with Barton Road, following a serious collision. Diversions are in place and the road is expected to be closed for several hours.

Police have asked people to please avoid the area where possible. The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed that the air ambulance attended and one person was taken to hospital. A spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Riverside Park Road at 5.22pm this evening (November 23).

We dispatched one ambulance crew and a clinical team leader, and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient was taken to James Cook Hospital by road.” Riverside Park Road is a long stretch of road that runs adjacent to the River Tees through Riverside Park Industrial Estate.
