Overturned lorry blocks major Cambs road near Ely

A lorry tipped has onto its side on the A142, near Witchford, on Friday morning (November 3). Police officers and firefighters are at the scene, and the road is blocked. Cambridgeshire Police[1] said: “We were called at about 8.40am today with reports an HGV had overturned on the A142 near Witchford.

The incident happened at the roundabout linking the A142 and Witchford Road, with the vehicle shedding its load on the road. “The road is blocked and details of injuries are unclear at this stage. Officers and fire crews[2] are at the scene.”

Traffic data company Inrix said: “A142 Witchford Road is blocked and traffic is queuing due to an overturned lorry at Lancaster Way Roundabout.

Congestion to the A10 northbound passing Ely[5], approaching the A142 roundabout.”
