Person hit by car outside secondary school in Bransholme

A person was taken to hospital after they were hit by a car near a school in Bransholme this morning. Police said the crash happened at about 7.40am in Midmere Avenue and a witness said there was a “person on the road” outside Winifred Holtby Academy. Humberside Police told Hull Live the person’s injuries “were not thought to be serious” but they were taken to hospital for treatment.

The traffic[1] reporting service Inrix reported that a section of Barnstaple Road, which has a junction with Midmere Avenue, was closed by police after the incident but it was cleared by 8.30am. A spokesperson for Humberside Police[2] told Hull Live: “Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian on Midmere Avenue in Hull at around 7.40am this morning (Monday 27 November). “One person was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be serious.”

Yorkshire Ambulance Service told Hull Live: “We received an emergency call at 7.35am on Monday morning to report a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian on Barnstaple Road, Bransholme, Hull. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed to Hull Royal Infirmary.”
