Person taken to hospital following one-vehicle collision on Tyne Bridge
One person has been taken to hospital following a collision on the Tyne Bridge this morning. Shortly after 8am this morning emergency services were called to reports of a one-vehicle collision on the A167 Tyne Bridge heading southbound. One lane was closed while the vehicle, which was found facing the wrong direction, was moved onto the footpath.
Northumbria Police[1] attended the scene alongside a double crewed ambulance and one person was taken to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.
The vehicle has since been recovered from the bridge.
