Photos show dramatic moment ambulance and car crash in Horfield
Drivers faced long delays in Horfield after an ambulance was involved in a crash with a car on Wednesday afternoon (November 29). Photos taken at the scene show the aftermath of the collision, which involved a South West Ambulance Service Trust vehicle. The ambulance was not carrying any patients at the time of the crash, a SWAST spokesperson told BristolLive. Muller Road was blocked in both directions after the crash[1], which took place at around 12.20pm at the junction with Filton[2] Avenue.
Both the ambulance and the car appeared to sustain damage to their front bonnets in the collision, while the car also appeared to have taken damage to the drivers seat car door. A SWAST spokesperson confirmed no one had been injured in the incident. The crash was located at the crossroads between Muller Road and Filton Avenue and drivers faced queues on both roads.
TravelWest said in a post on X – formerly known as Twitter[3]: “Muller Rd/Filton Ave Junction is blocked due to RTC (road traffic collision). Expect Long Delays. Use Alternative Routes if possible.”
Traffic[4] monitoring site Inrix added: “Muller Road in both directions blocked, delays due to accident, a car and an ambulance involved near The Church.”

At around 3pm, both Inrix and Travelwest issued updates to say the road had reopened and traffic had cleared in the area.
