They blocked the entrance to Herbert Street, which is off Croft Road, earlier this afternoon (November 20). Reports on social media suggested that a man had been spotted near traffic along nearby Croft Road. West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS)[1] confirmed it was called to a report of a collision between a man and a car at just before 2pm.

An ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene. A WMAS[2] spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian on Herbert Street at 1.52pm. One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the pedestrian.

He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to George Eliot Hospital."
