Police race to M8 crash involving multiple vehicles as motorists warned of ‘very slow’ traffic
A lane on the busy M8 motorway was blocked following a crash involving multiple vehicles on Tuesday morning, November 21. The incident took place on the eastbound stretch at J6 (Newhouse), with Traffic Scotland first reporting it at around 6.40am. It is not yet known how many vehicles are involved or if anyone has been injured.
Motorists have been advised that traffic is ‘slow on approach’ with police said to be making their way to the scene. It is understood that all lanes are now open but traffic remains slow on approach.
A spokesperson for Traffic Scotland shared an update on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: “Lane two (Of two) is currently blocked on the M8 Eastbound at J6 due to a multi-vehicle collision.

They added: “All lanes are now running on the #M8 at J6 Newhouse following an earlier collision.
Traffic is still very slow but is now moving in both lanes.”
