Police say man, 35, dead following incident in Broomhill

Greenock Telegraph: Police incident in Broomhill The 35-year-old was found with serious injuries in Drumfrochar Road at around 7.20pm last night. He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by ambulance.

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances. A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 7.20pm on Sunday, 26 November, a 35-year-old man was found with serious injuries in Drumfrochar Road, Greenock. "He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died a few hours later.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and a post mortem examination will take place in due course. "Police are treating the death as unexplained meantime." Greenock Telegraph: Police incident in Broomhill

The Tele reported earlier today how a major investigation was under way with officers sealing off both Drumfrochar Road and Cornhaddock Street. Nearby St Patrick's Primary was also closed, with pupils moved to Whinhill Primary and Notre Dame High. Investigating officers swarmed the area following a serious disturbance last night.

Ambulance crews were also on the scene.

Drumfrochar Road and Cornhaddock Street both remain sealed off.
