Riverside Park crash: One hospitalised as police close road

Emergency services convened on Riverside Park Road in the Riverside Park Industrial Estate just after 5pm this evening following reports of a crash. A large potion of the road has since been cordoned off by police up to the turn off for Barton Road. Pictures show a motorbike on the ground beside a vehicle that remains at the scene, as police lay crime scene investigation markers and photograph the area. The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed they attended the scene and took one person to hospital. A spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Riverside Park Road at 5.22pm this evening (23 November).

“We dispatched one ambulance crew and a clinical team leader, and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service. The post read: “Riverside Park Road in Middlesbrough has been closed between Ironmasters Road roundabout and the junction with Barton Road, following a serious collision.

“Diversions are in place and the road is expected to be closed for several hours, so please avoid the area where possible.”
