Semi-naked man in Royal Stoke with ‘serious injuries’ after roof stand-off
A semi-naked man has been taken to hospital for treatment – after climbing down from the roof of a city centre building. Staffordshire Police[1] cordoned off Charles Street, in Hanley,[2] at the height of the incident. The alarm was raised soon after 6pm on Friday, November 24. StokeonTrentLive is still waiting for a statement from the police following the rooftop stand-off.
But West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] has today confirmed it sent an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene. An ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called to concerns for a patient’s welfare on Charles Street, in Hanley, at around 7.10pm on Friday. On arrival, crews found a male patient.
Once he was brought to safety, he was treated by ambulance staff for serious but not life-threatening injuries and taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.”
