Snake Pass closed after accident near Ladybower Reservoir
Snake Pass – one of the main roads through the Peak District which connects Manchester to Sheffield – has been closed this evening. According to traffic monitoring services, the road has been closed between the A6013 for Ladybower Reservoir and Hurst Road, near the Royal Oak Inn. It’s believed the accident took place on Ashopton Bridge.
The first reports of the crash came in just before 7pm on Wednesday (November 22), the M.E.N. understands. The nature of the crash, and extent of any injuries sustained, is not yet known.
“A57 Snake Pass in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident between A6013 (Ladybower Reservoir) and Hurst Road (Royal Oak Inn),” said a statement from Inrix, a traffic monitoring service. “The road is closed due to an accident at Ashopton Bridge, Ladybower – first reported shortly before 19:00.”
