Stanningley Road shut by police in Armley live as emergency services at scene of serious crash
Police have shut a major Leeds road after two people received life-threatening injuries in a crash. An air ambulance is reported to have been scrambled to the scene of the serious crash in Leeds this afternoon (Mon) with long delays in the area. The crash, involving one vehicle, has happened in Stanningley Road[1] near the junction with Armley Ridge Road, Leeds.
All emergency services including Yorkshire Air Ambulance have been called to the scene. Witnesses said that traffic was being directed away from the area by police officers[2]. West Yorkshire Police have confirmed the road is shut after two people received life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved has been arrested. Traffic maps from the area show there are delays for motorists using Stanningley Road in both directions. Traffic is moving slowly on the by-pass approaching the scene and in the other direction there are delays from Armley Road onwards.
