Surrey motorist fined for failing to give driver’s details
Barney Coyle was found guilty at North Somerset Magistrates’ Court of failing to give information to Avon and Somerset Police relating to the identification of the driver. Coyle, 36, of Clayton Road, Chessington, Surrey, was fined GBP660 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of GBP528 and a contribution of GBP96 towards prosecution costs. As well as the total court bill of GBP1,283, he was handed six penalty points on his driving licence.
But a charge of driving the car when it was clocked doing 44mph in a 30mph zone on the A358 near its junction with Lipe Lane and Stoke Road, at Henlade, was withdrawn.
The section of road has seen thousands of motorists caught speeding over recent years.
