Suspect wanted in fatal shooting of 42-year-old man in N.H. arrested in Mass.

A suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man in Manchester, New Hampshire earlier this month has been arrested in Massachusetts, Massachusetts State Police said Wednesday.

Giovanne Morris, 31, was arrested Tuesday at an apartment at 244 Kennedy Drive in Malden on Nov.

28, state police said. Morris was wanted in connection with the shooting death of Carlos Rodriguez[1] in on Saturday, Nov.

18.

Police went to the area of 61 Lowell St. shortly before 1:15 a.m. on Nov.

18 for a report of a motor vehicle crash.

Less than an hour later, at around 2 a.m., police went back for a report of a shooting, according to a joint statement from Attorney General John M. Formella and Manchester Police Chief Allen D.

Aldenberg.

That was when officers found Rodriguez with apparent gunshot wounds, authorities said. The 42-year-old was brought to Elliott Hospital in Manchester, where he died hours later.

When authorities arrived at the Malden apartment Tuesday, Morris went onto the fifth-floor balcony and jumped onto the balcony of a neighboring apartment.

Authorities then broke into the original apartment, went to the balcony, and tried to get Morris to surrender. He eventually gave in, and Morris was taken into custody, state police said.

After he was arrested Tuesday, Morris was brought to the State Police-Medford Barracks, where he was charged with being a felon in passion of a dangerous weapon, state police said.

Morris, who had a last known address in New Hampshire, was arraigned in Malden District Court as a fugitive from justice.

Prosecutors in both states will arrange his rendition to New Hampshire, state police added.

The shooting is still under investigation by Manchester police and the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.
