Teenage girl in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car near zebra crossing

A teenage girl remains in hospital with serious injuries a week after she was knocked down close to a zebra crossing in Widnes. The girl, 17, was hit by a car outside Riverside College at 7.46pm on Monday, November 13. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The collision, on Kingsway, involved a grey Vauxhall Insignia, police said. At 7.46pm on Monday, November 13 police were called to reports of a collision on Kingsway, Widnes. Inspector Steve Griffiths, of the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit at Cheshire Police, said: "Enquiries in relation to this collision have been ongoing and we're committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what took place.
