Three hospitalised after five-car crash on motorway

Generic image of police on the road (Image: Archive) Three people were taken to hospital after a fice-car crash on a Lanarkshire motorway. Officers were called to the M74, between junctions 6 and 7, near Hamilton, around 3.25pm yesterday.

Five vehicles, including a white Peugeot Boxer van, a red Peugeot 107 car, a grey Mazda 3, a black Mercedes-Benz C class car and a black Renault Clio collided. As a result, the 19-year-old driver, 15-year-old passenger of the Peugeot car and a 65-year-old driver of the Mercedes were all taken to Wishaw General Hospital. They have since been released.

A police cordon was erected as cops started the investigation and are encouraging any witnesses to get in touch.
