Two people fighting for their lives after Leeds Stanningley Road crash
Two people have suffered life-threatening injuries and a driver has been arrested at the scene of a serious crash in Armley this afternoon. Emergency services[1] rushed to the scene on Stanningley Road near the junction with Armley Ridge Road.[2] The incident was first reported on traffic and travel monitoring services at around 3.30pm and witnesses reported that an air ambulance was deployed to the scene. West Yorkshire Police[3] have confirmed that two people were seriously injured during the crash.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody as the investigation continues. Police said that the road is closed at this time and asked motorists to avoid the area. A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are currently in attendance at a serious road traffic collision involving one vehicle on Stanningley Road near to the junction with Armley Ridge Road Leeds.
Two people have received life threatening injuries. “The road is currently closed and we would ask people to avoid the area. The driver of the vehicle has been arrested and remains in Police custody at this time.”
