Two people rushed to hospital after crash closes Somerset road
Two people were taken to hospital after a crash near Wick. Emergency services were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash in Freezinghill Lane just before 3.40pm yesterday (Tuesday, November 28). According to Avon and Somerset Police[1], two people were treated by the South West Ambulance Service[2] at the scene of the crash.
They were both then taken to hospital for treatment. The road was closed in both directions for a time while the two vehicles were recovered. Traffic[3] monitoring system Inrix said Freezinghill Lane was blocked in both directions near the Battlefields[4]. There were also reports of congestion to the A46 as traffic diverted around the crash.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called shortly before 3.40pm on Tuesday, November 28 to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Freezinghill Lane, near Wick. “The ambulance service also attended and treated two people for minor injuries. They were then taken to hospital for treatment.
“The road was closed while the vehicles were recovered, and it reopened just after 5.45pm.”
