West Lothian ‘police officer in unmarked car’ filmed by youths at huge meet-up
Footage on social media has captured the moment West Lothian[1] car enthusiasts start filming what appears to be a police officer in an unmarked car during a meet-up. The area near Livingston shopping[2] centre on Almondvale Road has become a notorious spot for drivers in modified cars[3] to turn up in their hundreds at night and perform stunts in the car park. We previously reported how tyre marks have been left across the busy road and the entire car park near Sainsbury's has been 'taken over' by youths filming fellow drivers performing drifts and showing off their cars.
On Friday night, several clips filmed on Almondvale Road show a BMW stop next to a large crowd of youths filming on their phones before the camera pans to the inside of the car as a man wearing police uniform is behind the wheel. Several people can then be heard taunting the man by saying: "Go on, your turn," before swearing as the car drives off out of the car park. Snapchat videos taken later show vehicles revving their engines as clouds of smoke appear from their rear wheels with dozens watching on.
Dozens of people can be seeing filming the car as it disappears out of the car park. (Image: Snapchat)It is not the first time the police have been forced to attend a similar meet.
In October we reported[6] how footage taken from the same area shows the moment a marked police van attends and youths hurl abuse at officers while filming on their phones.
