Woman, 31, found dead in park as pond taped off by police

Police taped off a pond in a park after a woman was found dead. Cheshire Police[1] were called to Whitby Park, Ellesmere Port[2], shortly after 11.30am on Thursday, November 30, following reports of concerns for the welfare of a woman. Once officers arrived they found the body of a 31-year-old woman and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The force confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A number of police cars attended the park with an eye-witness saying an area by the pond at the back of the theatre was taped off, CheshireLive reports.[3]

In a statement, Cheshire Constabulary said: “At 11.41am on Thursday 30 November, police were called to a park on Stanney Lane, Ellesmere Port, following reports of a concern for welfare of a woman.

“Officers attended and sadly a 31-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner.” Don’t miss the biggest and breaking stories by signing up to the Echo Daily newsletter here[6]
