Woman, 39, trapped inside Range Rover pinned against barrier on A1 after being struck by Toyota
A woman was left trapped inside a Range Rover on the A1 after being struck by another vehicle. The 39-year-old was driving a dark grey Range Rover southbound near Morpeth[1], Northumberland[2], when her vehicle was struck to the nearside by a white or cream mid-sized Toyota. The collision, which occurred at at around 10.50am on Tuesday (November 21), caused the female to lose control and collide with the central reservation.
The vehicle was pinned against the crash barrier and she was trapped inside. She was freed by the emergency services when they arrived at the scene and sustained only minor injuries in the incident. The Toyota had left the A1 at the St Leonard’s Lane exit slip road into Morpeth.
Police said the reason the crash occurred is yet to be established. Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward. They are particularly keen to hear from any motorists who were passing the area at the time and have dashcam footage which could assist their enquiries.
Witnesses can contact Northumbria Police[3] via the “Tell Us Something” page of their website or by calling 101, quoting log number NP-20231121-0277.
