Woman suffers serious spinal injury in Bournemouth e-scooter hit-and-run crash

A woman sustained serious injuries to her spine during a crash involving an e-scooter while she was out walking in Bournemouth town centre[1]. Dorset Police said the incident happened at around 9.10pm on October 30 in the Old Christchurch Road area. The woman, aged in her 20s, was walking near Beale Place when a man riding an e-scooter collided with her.

The rider did not stop at the scene following the crash[2] and is being sought by police. The victim was rushed to hospital with spinal injuries, which has required ongoing medical treatment. Police[3] have issued a witness appeal including a CCTV image, which can be seen at the top of this article, of a man officers would like to identify as part of their investigation.

Police Constable Sam Burlton, of Bournemouth police, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into this collision and have obtained a CCTV image of a man we are looking to identify as part of our investigation.

I would urge anyone with information regarding this man’s identity to please contact us.”
