Woman taken to hospital after car flips onto roof on M57

A woman was taken to hospital after a car overturned on the M57. Police were called to reports of a crash at the end of the M57 at Switch Island[1] involving a Hyundai and a Mercedes van at around 9.20am today, Tuesday, November 14. Officers fully closed the motorway as they dealt with the incident.

A photo taken by an eyewitness showed the Hyundai on its roof with severe damage. A cordon was in place and paramedics were also in attendance.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police[4] said the driver of the Hyundai, a woman, was taken to hospital.

There were long delays on the M57 as emergency services dealt with the incident. One eyewitness said they were stuck in traffic for 40 minutes. In a statement, they said: “We were called at 9.20am to an RTC involving a Hyundai and a Mercedes van at the end of the M57 at Switch Island.

The Hyundai turned over onto its roof following the collision and the female driver has been taken to hospital to be checked over. “The vehicles are in the process of being recovered.” For the latest news and breaking news visit liverpoolecho.co.uk/news[5].
